There is no better way to build strong bonds within the family, and teach kids about the values of giving, than to have a family volunteering session. It could be as easy as giving out gifts to children at the home, or volunteering at the old folks home to keep them company. It helps keep everyone grounded, and remind the kids to appreciate what they have. Rather than going to the mall to shop for material items, I think it is better if they learn how to give instead.

Any one have Ideas for such a project?

#1 We had spent some time
We had spent some time at a foster home helping kids learn to read, and it was a rewarding experience to say the least. On top of the satisfaction we felt from the meaningful work, we definitely became more bonded as a family as we now have more shared experiences.
