Our Mission:
- To inspire, equip, and mobilize youth to take action that changes the world and themselves through service.
About Us:
generationOn is the global youth service movement igniting the power of all kids to make their mark on the world. As the youth division of Points of Light, generationOn has brought the nation's leading youth service organizations and programs under one umbrella including Children for Children, The League, Learning to Give, Kids Care Clubs, and HandsOn Schools. By partnering with teachers, parents, schools, community organizations and businesses, generationOn gives kids the opportunity to see firsthand the issues in their communities and the tools and resources they need to respond and become part of the solution.
GenerationOn was built on the foundation created by Children for Children, a New York City nonprofit founded by Silda Wall Spitzer that created opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to Grow Involved through volunteering and service-learning programs that instilled a lifelong commitment to service. Children for Children combined with Points of Light in June 2009 and brought together several other youth service organizations, including the LEAGUE and Learning to Give, to officially become generationOn in October 2010. As the youth division of Points of Light, generationOn has sparked a national movement, building on the pioneering programming begun with Silda’s vision more than 15 years ago.
…the global youth service movement igniting the power of all kids to make their mark on the world!
With the support of a generous investment by the Hasbro Children’s Fund, generationOn is helping young people develop into healthy, empowered, creative problem-solvers and global leaders by experiencing their power and potential through service, service learning and giving back.
